Based on a Mexican folk tale, the story follows Kino, a poor diver, as he finds a pearl of exquisite beauty and enormous size, a stone as “perfect as the moon”. He believes it will transform his life beyond measure, a transfer of riches and happiness, but his world becomes polluted by his discovery. Steinbeck writes poetically about greed’s capacity to corrupt man’s soul, the nature of evil and love’s redemptive power. This copy was published by Heinemann Educational Books in 1973.

Delivery within the United Kingdom

We offer FREE UK delivery on all items. Orders under £500 are sent via Royal Mail 1st class recorded delivery and you should expect to receive your item within 1-3 days. Orders over £500 are sent via Royal Mail “Special Delivery – before 1pm” next working day delivery guaranteed.

Delivery outside of the United Kingdom (Worldwide)

We offer FREE worldwide shipping.

Orders under £1500 are sent via Royal Mail “International Signed For” and you should expect to receive your item within 5-10 working days.

Orders over £1500 are sent via FedEx and you should expect to receive your item with 1-3 days. Local taxes and duties may apply.

*If your order is under £1500 but you would like your item shipped via FedEx, we can do this at an additional cost of £65.*
